Indian print and advertising market is taking green solutions seriously as seen at Media Expo Mumbai 2018

Apr 6, 2018

New markets were touched as the 42nd edition attracted business visitors from tier two and tier three cities with 15% increase in total footfall.

Massive personalised exhibition stalls, beautiful patterns created by high quality prints covering the show floor and aisles filled with serious business enquirers characterised the three days of the 42nd edition of Media Expo Mumbai 2018. The exhibition that commenced on 22 February 2018 hosted 137 companies from countries like India, China, Korea and Taiwan. Covering 7,000 sqm of the show floor, this leading fair for print, signage and advertising solutions witnessed 12,222 business visitors marking a 15% increase from its previous edition.

Talking about the new records set by this edition, Mr Raj Manek, Executive Director and Board Member, Messe Frankfurt Asia Holding Ltd shared: “Once again Media Expo has proved to be the most influential platform to source and showcase the best quality solutions for print, marketing and the advertising industry. I am happy to report another record breaking edition for Mumbai in 2018, with an increase in the number of exhibitors and visitors and the size of the show, but also our reach in attracting visitors from across the country, where we have successfully attracted many new business visitors from 2nd and 3rd tier cities to the show on all three days. Looking at the increase in the size of the show and the visitors, I am happy to say that Media Expo 2018 Mumbai has continued to go from strength to strength.”

The reduction of hazardous effects to the environment proved to be a key topic at the fair. Talks about banning flex in the Indian market and awareness on using eco-friendly products, saw a lot of exhibitors focus on green alternatives to standard solutions. Mr Smarth Bansal, Senior Product Manager, Colorjet India Ltd shared about the initiative his company took towards green solutions: “This year the theme for us is green printing. As there is a lot of discussion about banning the PVC flexes, we have come up with UV, eco-solvent and disperse printing that offers complete green solutions. We are thankful to Media Expo to help us showcase these solutions on a wonderful platform.” Other exhibitors who displayed green solutions were, Eco Signs, Monotech, Mstronics Smt Solutions, Aludecor Systems, Arrow Digital, to name a few.

An exhibition consistently lauded for being a comprehensive platform has garnered many loyal exhibitors and visitors through the years. Exhibitors and visitors both seemed satisfied with the response they received at this edition, as it covered key aspects like good leads, relevant discussions, exposure to new technologies, and green alternatives that will soon be the future.

Sharing his experience at Media Expo 2018 Mumbai, first time exhibitors Mr Mihir Parekh, Associate Vice President, Nilkamal Ltd said: “Being a new product in the market, our goal was to create awareness and build a customer strong database. I must say, with the help of Media Expo we have managed to attain our objectives. Also, with the kind of response we have received here, we would consider participating in the 2018 Delhi edition.”

Another exhibitor who has constantly been presenting his solutions at the show was Mr Atul C. Ghandi, Director, Macart Equipment Pvt Ltd who shared: “Since the first day we have been very busy at the show. We have received very good footfall and the crowd was relevant and serious about business. We also sold a flatbed printer to a company from Hyderabad.”

Looking at the growing demands for newer technologies, visitors were seen attending the show with clear objectives about gaining knowledge, building their contacts and buying equipments that will help expand their business and provide better quality goods. One of the major highlights of this edition was that it attracted visitors from tier two and tier three cities which helped the exhibitors to meet many new potential clients and expand their reach to newer markets. This was a clear indication that the industry has grown deeper and businesses from smaller cities are more mindful of quality products and easy accessibility of technological advancements.

Dr Sanjiv Kamat, Vice President, Kothari Info-Tech Ltd, first time visitor at Media Expo mentioned his objectives for visiting the show. He said: “We are into providing solutions for digital software. Being my first visit to this show my main objectives were networking and make some new leads. With the technologies displayed here I have got some good leads.”

Another visitor Mr Dileep Somaiya, President (Technical Coated Fabrics Division), Mahalaxmi Rubtech Ltd said: “I have been visiting Media Expo from past two years now and with the variety of products Media Expo brings on the showfloor every six months, shows that media and signage technologies are the fastest developing sectors.”

Media Expo Mumbai 2018 was better in many aspects like visitor count, visitor’s objective, new product launches, and awareness of green solutions. The technologies showcased along with the visitor quality indicated that this industry is spreading its wings to reach the far ends of the country, making this exhibition even more crucial in the coming years.

9 September in New Delhi. For more information, please visit www.themediaexpo.com
